There are a number of different finishes for wood both internally and externally. Exterior woodstains and varnishes are best to help protect the wood from the elements. Interior wood is best protected by varnish or wax. These doors have been stripped, sanded and sealed using a shellac based sealer, prior to having natural beeswax applied using fine wire wool. This newly fitted handrail had one coat of teak stain applied, prior to having two coats of clear eggshell varnish applied. The table top was treated and finished in wax the same as the doors (above).
